Who Should Attend

This conference is intended for disability service providers in the post
secondary and high school setting, Assistive Technologists, faculty, Web
designers and programmers interested in accessibility, special educators,
college administrators responsible for legal policy related to disability
and accommodation, rehabilitation counselors and persons with disabilities.

  Highlights

Over 45 Sessions Including Lectures & Hands-on Labs

During the four days of this year's Accessing Higher Ground (AHG)
conference, over 45 sessions, including hands-on labs and lectures, will be
offered on the availability and benefits of assistive technology and
accessible media in the university and college setting. The pre-conference
<http://www.colorado.edu/ATconference/preconfagenda2004.html> will include
two days of hands on workshops and lecture sessions. All events will take
place at the University of Colorado-Boulder Campus.

Special Sessions

EASI Track, AHEAD, WebAim, & DAISY/RFB&D Sessions

Equal Access to Software & Information (EASI <http://www.rit.edu/~easi/> )
will conduct a pair of half-day hands-on "clinics" on different aspects of
low tech accessibility. On Thursday, EASI will offer Applications for
Learners with Low Vision and Learning Disabilities and on Friday,
Applications for Learners with Mobility Impairments.

CSUN's AT Applications Certificate Program (ATACP)

This year, AHG will partner with California State University, Northridge
(CSUN) to host the "Technology Applications
<http://www.csun.edu/codtraining/index.htm> Certificate Program (ATACP)".
The CSUN training will run concurrent with the AHG preconference on Tuesday
and Wednesday (Nov. 11 & 12). Attendees who register for both the AHG main
conference (Nov. 11 & 12) and ATACP (Nov. 9 & 10) will receive a 10%
discount on both events. (Registration for this event alone or in tandem
with the AHG main conference must be done at the ATACP site above.)

On Wednesday, the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD
<http://www.ahead.org/> ) will present a half-day preconference workshop on
the topic: Aligning the Pieces: A UDL Approach to Online Learning for All.

WebAIM <http://www.webaim.org/> (Web Accessibility in Mind) will conduct a
half-day hands-on workshop during the preconference: Real-world Web
Accessibility Techniques and two lecture sessions during the main
conference: Web Accessibility Policies and Procedures that Work and
Providing Web Accessibility Training Within Large Organizations.

The DAISY Consortium <http://www.daisy.org/> & Recording for the Blind
<http://www.rfbd.org> & Dyslexic (RFB&D) will present two lecture sessions
on Print Access: a Legal, Copyright, and Standards Update and Survival
Strategies for Students with Print Disabilities.
