Hi Ross,
There needs to be some kind of vibrating notification as the need
is for someone who is hard of hearing and cannot hear the alarms on any of
the multiple pumps (at most 3). Whenever the alarms go off, for any
reason, the notification needs to occur so the medical staff can assess
the cause and correct it. Alarm may sound when medical staff are out of
the room,or in the room, but hallways away(don't know the exact distance).
I've already been in touch with: Hearing, Speech and Deafness (Seattle),
Job Accommodation Network (JAN)and the manufacturers of the pumps. Nothing
specifically identified yet. I'm hoping someone else may have had
experience with some type of alternative notification system.
