The tenant or landlord could apply to the Washington Assistive
Technology Foundation for a low interest loan to pay for the smoke
detectors. An on line loan application can be found on our newly
updated website: http://www.watf.org <http://www.watf.org/> .
I am not sure of the specific requirements relating to Section 8 housing
as it applies to a private landlord. I would check with the local
housing authority or civil rights enforcement agency.

Subject: [Wash-at] any funding sources for strobe light smoke detectors?
Does any one know of any funding sources available for strobe light
smoke detectors? Is there a law that requires the landlord/owner to pay
for the installation while they are on Section 8 and Social Security?
Any input greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
