Catherine Brock

Catherine Brock, MA, LMHC, is a licensed mental health counselor who has worked in the field of autism for over fifteen years bringing both clinical expertise and management experience to the center.  As an associate director for the UW Autism Center, her responsibilities include coordinating collaborative systems to best meet the needs of the families, the center, and the staff.  In addition to managerial and administrative duties as director of operations, Ms. Brock also provides direct clinical services to families with a focus on emotion regulation, social skills and coping strategies for children and adolescents with high-functioning autism spectrum disorders.

More recently, she has been involved in a pilot study investigating the feasibility and effectiveness of a social skills curriculum for young children with autism. Of particular interest are interventions tailored to address the needs of individuals with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosed with a comorbid disorder of depression and/or anxiety.  She is an ongoing guest lecturer for graduate-level psychology classes at the University of Washington, City University, and Antioch University.
