Apex Summer Camp

The UW Autism Center is excited to open registration for Apex Summer Camp 2014. Camp dates are July 7th through August 8th, 2014. The expanded 5-week program will run Monday through Friday 9:00am - 3:00pm. The camp is designed for children 6-12 with autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, and their peers and siblings.

Our summer camp program focuses on building children’s social skills, behavioral skills, and self-esteem within the context of structured recreational and learning activities. We partner with parents to provide education and training, as well as daily reports, so that new skills can be practiced, coached, and reinforced during everyday activities at home. Targets of treatment include improvements in the quality of peer interactions, increases in self-efficacy and confidence, and enhanced self-regulation of emotions and behavior.
