Skills and Behavior Assessment (SBA)
Intensive
The primary focus of this service is to allow our team to implement a thorough analysis of the child’s language and learning skills and behaviors, to identify teaching priorities, and to provide initial direction regarding ABA based teaching procedures and intervention methods to the family. From the early learner to the advanced learner, this service is designed to address the scope and sequence of skills and behaviors these children may display. Prior to the visit, families are asked to fill out a questionnaire regarding their child and send in a 20-30 minute video of their child (specific clips requested). This service is provided for children ages 0-7.
This service can be provided for families who live far from the Seattle area, or families who live close. It is intensive due to the amount of work completed with the child and family over a short amount of time (2-3 days).
A detailed report explaining the skills and behavior analysis process, the current skill levels of the child, the appropriate and inappropriate behaviors displayed by the child, as well as recommendations for teaching and intervention methods – both for immediate and future planning. A DVD copy of the 2-3 day session with ECAC team will be provided to family and/or school. A follow-up phone consultation is provided to discuss the SBA report and further questions the family or school may have.
This service is designed to last 2-3 days in a row depending on whether the child is an early or advance learner, the types of behaviors the child is displaying, and the unique needs of the family. The length of the service will be determined with the family prior to arriving.
** For families that live close by, there is an option of completing this assessment over 3-4 half days within one month, depending on whether the child is an early or advance learner, the types of behaviors the child is displaying, and the unique needs of the family.
