Marilou Goodfellow Grove
Goodfellow Grove demonstrates the use of native plants in a transition landscape, flowing from a highly maintained, intensively used space to a low-maintenance, "naturalistic" one. The transitional nature of this garden can be observed in the way the formality of the landscape adjacent to the Center for Urban Horticulture buildings gives way to more informal plantings and maintenance towards the Union Bay Natural Area.
The garden features native plant species from the Pacific Northwest. Generally, the peak of bloom is mid spring to earlysummer, though autumn color can be outstanding.
Discover and find solitude in this garden and enjoy the diversity of floranative to ourregion.
Funding for the grove comes from family and friends of the late Marilou Goodfellow.
