Melanie Harned, Ph.D.
Melanie S. Harned, Ph.D., ABPP, is the Research Director of the Behavioral Research and Therapy Clinics. She is the developer of the DBT Prolonged Exposure protocol and has received several grants from NIMH to develop and evaluate this approach to treating PTSD in high-risk and multi-diagnostic individuals. She has also received multiple NIH-funded grants to develop and evaluate technology-based methods for disseminating and implementing evidence-based treatments into clinical practice. Since 2005, she has served as Co-Investigator on Dr. Marsha Linehan’s NIH-funded research to evaluate DBT in diverse client populations. She regularly provides training and consultation nationally and internationally in DBT and DBT PE. She has published numerous articles and book chapters and is licensed as a psychologist in the state of Washington.
