Study Extended for the 2008-2009 School Year! The University of Washington Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences continuing their study to determine children's exposure to diesel exhaust while riding school buses and determine the associated respiratory health effects. We are presently enrolling children who have participated in the diesel bus study in past school years and attend one of the participating Seattle Public Schools. If your child meets the study's eligibility requirements, we will ask him/her to complete questionnaires and continue participation in lung function tests one day per month at school. Your child may also choose to volunteer to help us monitor the air quality in his/her surroundings for 24 hours. If your child participates, s/he will receive a $10 gift card each month. Please note, we are no longer able to offer annual or one time passes to Puget Sound area organizations like the Woodland Park Zoo and the Museum of Flight.
