Christina joined the UW Center for Commercialization in April 2014 and currently manages all aspects of patent strategy and patent preparation and prosecution for life science related technologies. She has a diverse scientific background in microbiology, immunology, and molecular biology. Christina works closely with UW researchers, C4C technology and licensing managers, and outside counsel to obtain thorough patent protection for UW inventions. Prior to joining C4C, Christina was a patent attorney at Lucas & Mercanti, LLP, where she prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a variety of technology areas, including small molecules, antibodies, and nucleotides. She has extensive experience in managing patent portfolios and advising clients on patent prosecution strategies. Prior to attending law school, she was a research associate at Xencor, a biotech company in Los Angeles, and also worked as a research associate at UCLA in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Christina earned her B.S. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from UCLA and her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
