Associate Director, Technology Licensing
Since joining the UW Center for Commercialization in May 2004, Lisa Norton has managed a portfolio of medical device and biomaterials technologies, with primary focus on ultrasound and medical imaging. She previously was an applications scientist at Combimatrix, a Washington biotech startup, working on new applications for DNA microarrays, bench science, robotics, product integration and performance, business development, training, materials science, and marketing. After earning a BS in biomedical engineering at Cornell University, she was a lab technician at the UW in the Department of Medical Genetics prior to pursuing graduate work. At the University of Virginia, Lisa earned a doctorate in cell biology and biotechnology and became interested in technology transfer while working with the university’s patent office to patent and license a technology she created. When not in her C4C office, Lisa enjoys the outdoors and traveling overseas.
