Express License Program

Many software and tools created at the University of Washington are available through our Express Licensing Program. These agreements have standard terms and conditions that allow for rapid licensing by companies or individuals.

The conditions and financial terms of Express Licenses apply only to those who download the Express License for that title, sign it "as is" and return it to UW Center for Commercialization. Other licensing arrangements may be available.

Atlas of Pediatric Dentistry

blast2tree

Blast2tree 1.0 assists in the identification of DNA sequences from microorganisms by sending automated queries to the NCBI BLAST and GenBank databases. In response to a sequence query, the BLAST server returns a set of similar sequences; additional information, including sequence origin and bibliographic information is retrieved from GenBank. Charge Czar

Crux

Crux contains software for tandem mass spectrometry analysis, with a focus on peptide identification. Nonlinear Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (NLEIS)

PAnDA

PGAT

Prokaryotic Genome Annotation Tool (PGAT) is a web accessible, multi-user genome annotation tool. [ more ]

PHASE

The program PHASE implements methods for estimating haplotypes from population genotype data and incorporates methods for estimating recombination rates, and identifying recombination hotspots. [ more ]

Phred, Phrap, Consed-Autofinish

Phred, Phrap, and Consed-Autofinish are standard bioinformatics tools used by over 250 commercial sites and thousands of academic labs. Modifying an Express License
If the Express License for a specific title does not meet your needs, other arrangements can be discussed. Different terms and conditions may apply when discussing modifications to the license agreements. Contact the Express Licensing Program at license@u.washington.edu to discuss details.
Academic Licenses
A variety of UW materials are available under an academic license to qualified licensees. Check the licensing page for the title you want for availability of an academic license.
Working with Distributors
Research software and tools distributed by the University of Washington may also be offered through licensed redistributors; these are companies we have authorized to modify and distribute the materials. Redistributors may make the materials available under terms different from those the University is able to support.
