Twin Data For Investigators

As we work to establish the UW Twin Registry and encourage twins to participate, we have also refined the processes that make the UW Twin Registry available to researchers, including the UW Twin Registry Policies and Procedures, the application process and Registry access fees, and the scientific advisory committee that will review and oversee all approved Registry projects. The University of Washington Institutional Review Board, whose primary focus is the protection of twin participants and the confidentiality of any information that they provide, guided us in developing the Policies and Procedures. Additionally, University of Washington attorneys helped us review these guidelines to ensure that there were no conflicts of interest or special privileges reserved for investigators who want access to the Registry.

We strongly advise that investigators who are interested in learning more about the UW Twin Registry or in using the Registry as their base of participants contact Eric Strachan, Ph.D., UW Twin Registry Associate Director at erstrach@u.washington.edu
