Working together to Close the Achievement Gap
CEL's 6th annual Summer Leadership Institute held on June 25 – June 30 was a huge success, with over 185 people representing school and district teams from throughout the state of Washington, as well as from California, Oregon, Texas, and Wyoming participating in the event. To kick off the institute, participants learned from keynote speaker, Kati Haycock, Director of The Education Trust, Washington, D.C. Kati shared compelling national and international data highlighting the current gaps in achievement as well as the specific ways some schools are successfully addressing this disparity to create a more equitable education for all students.
