3:30 PM Interactive Art Discussion
Julie Lazar will examine the curator's and artist's role and responsibility for the development and public presentation of a variety of low-and high-tech interactive works from 1986 to the present. Among the artists whose projects she will discuss are: Grahame Weinbren, John Cage, Rick Lowe, Mierle Laderman Ukeles, Mel Chin, George Legrady, Marie Sester, Pat O'Neill and Remy Charlip. "The Perfect Houses of Andrea Palladio," Witold Rybczynski (University of Pennsylvania). The first of the "50 Years of Polish at the UW: Celebrating Polish-American Heritage" series of lectures highlighting contributions of Poles and Polish-Americans to worldwide cultures.
