Public Scholarship

As current policy trends increasingly defund and privatize public institutions, Making the University Public promotes public scholarship as one critical and creative mode of engagement.

Alongside the Simpson Center’s Certificate in Public Scholarship (CPS) program, this graduate interest group aims to strengthen networks of collaboration amongst CPS fellows and among public scholars more broadly, while providing a venue to develop collective research questions. Through workshops, speaker events, and informal gatherings, we seek to deepen the practice of public scholarship and support those newly entering into the field.
