Carnaval at the Burke Museum

The Burke Museum will present a day of public programs to accompany the exhibit, ¡Carnaval!, which explores the history, traditions, arts, and meaning of carnival celebrations around the world.

Presentations will include two lecture/performances of associated musical traditions: Venetian Carnival Music of the Baroque, presented by Pacific Musicworks and director/scholar Stephen Stubbs; and Carnival Music of Trinidad and Tobago, by UW Steelband and director, Shannon Dudley (Ethnomusicology).
