Should I Use Git or Subversion (SVN)?

In many ways, this is a matter of taste, however, there are some main ways in which the two differ:

  Git SVN
Online or Offline Workflow Either Online Only
Backup Location Every client has the full
history, can have multiple
online backups 		Only on Lemur
Backup Automation Can be automated,
is not by default 		Changes committed to server
with every checkin
Branches Much easier branching/
merging system 		Branches harder to use
