2010 Conference on Early Learning at the UW

Educators, counselors, law-makers, advocacy groups, parents, members of professional organizations, and other interested community stakeholders are again invited to join us for this event. The conference will feature latest advances in research, provide related resources, and promote connections among stakeholders.  World-renowned experts from UW will share their knowledge and start a conversation leading to sound educational and policy decisions for the benefit of all children in Washington State.

Please join us to for this intensive experience to:

This interdisciplinary conference aligns with Governor Gregoire's emphasis on early learning, and complements other efforts and programs that are aiming to strengthen early learning in Washington State. It is presented by the University of Washington College of Education and UW Department of Psychology with significant contribution from the UW School of Nursing. The conference has received the support of community stakeholders particularly the Talaris Institute and the Youth Enrichment in Sports Project which is funded by the William T. Grant Foundation.

This year the conference is adding a special segment that allows parents to join the educators and other professionals who are attending the conference. The parenting segment on Saturday (10:00-4:30) is presented by the Department of Psychology Center for Child and Family Well-being to bring parents into the conversation on early learning and allow them to enhance their knowledge and skills to complement the work of educators. Presentations in this segment will be highly relevant and beneficial to all attendees and will especially benefit parents and guardians.
