29-31 October, 2011
Seattle, Washington USA
The abstract submission deadline for posters has passed.
The abstract should fit on one page, using a standard, readable font (Arial, 11 is suggested), summarizing the content of proposed poster. Send abstracts to Ellen Coyle. Please include names of authors, institutional affiliations, and the name of the presenter of the poster at FOCI 2011 and contact information for that person. A presenter must attend the symposium in order for the poster to be displayed and included in the printed program.
Full formatting instructions for the posters will be sent to each author on acceptance of their submission.
The submitted research abstract should include a clear indication that the applicant is both working in the area covered by the meeting and making a clinically or scientifically significant contribution to the area. The abstract must describe original and recent work but the work may have been presented at another meeting or published prior to this meeting. A travel fellowship recipient must present a poster based on the abstract accepted. Presenters must register for the FOCI Symposium, and must attend the poster session on October 29 at the Edgewater Hotel. The abstract and poster must be in English.
Poster abstracts to be considered from authors not requesting a travel fellowship should meet the same criteria and timelines as listed for fellowship support.
A small number of travel fellowships are available to support the participation of eligible applicants from developing nations. The purpose of these travel awards is to add to the diversity of experiences represented by meeting participants and to facilitate representation from regions of the world with distinct needs and challenges for contraception.
The award will cover conference related expenses to include: meeting registration, lodging, round trip economy airfare to Seattle and ground transportation from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to the Edgewater hotel. Awardees should be prepared for any unexpected costs of travel that may arise, such as those associated with flight changes, visa application fees, etc. The awardee accepts responsibility for such costs. The amount of the awards will vary, depending on where awardees are coming from and the extent of their need.
Awards will be based on review of application content by the FOCI organizing committee.
Main criteria for selection are as follows:
Deadline: August 19, 2011.
