Impact of Microstructure on Local Carrier Lifetime in Perovskite Solar Cells

Abstract

We use fluorescence microscopy to spatially resolve the photoluminescence (PL) intensity and lifetimes from films of organometal trihalide perovskites. We find grain boundaries lead to significant PL quenching. Our results highlight possible routes towards higher photovoltaic efficiency in this class of materials.
