Thank you to all who were part of an inspirational event seeking to move forward an agenda of health and justice.
Our conference was the first of its kind exploring the human right to family planning. It brought together speakers and participants from different disciplines to discuss the timely issues regarding sexual and reproductive health and rights, including abortion. There were lawyers, doctors, program managers from NGOs, international organizations and foundations. The participants represented global and public health, law, family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology. So many different countries were represented: Namibia, Nigeria, People’s Republic of China, India, Honduras, Mexico, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Canada and the U.S.
We learned, exchanged ideas and discussed necessary action plans to improve family planning—and sexual and reproductive health and rights more generally—globally and locally. We have seen so much progress and yet there is so much more to do. Stay tuned!
