bands, although they are darkish (gray/brown/metal) and i think only three total. two of the crows foraged in the grass 30 ft in front of me while the other two snuck around about 15 feet behind me. The flights continue over a span of fifteen minutes or so with a couple minutes often separating the major groups. I laid a straight-edge on a map in the direction of their flight and it shows a direct flight between Seward Park and the south Lake Union area. In the evening at dusk, although I watch, I do not see similar flights south.\r\n\r\nFive years ago I also watched the crows\' flights over my house. At that time, the crows in similar groups were flying northeast just before dusk. I tracked them from vantage point to vantage point through Madison Valley and my son finally found their nesting place in the Arboretum. This evening flight pattern no longer occurs.
