Applying to the PATP - FAQ
Who will I be auditioning for?
You will be auditioning for Valerie Curtis-Newton, the head of the PATP.
Should I schedule a private audition if I'm participating in URTA?
That decision is up to each applicant. If you can afford it we would recommend a private audition, which will give you a guaranteed time to meet with the head of the program. We do admit applicants who audition either way.
Are there callbacks?
In 2013 there will be a weekend workshop in Seattle on March 2-3. Actors who auditioned through U/RTA in New York may be invited to Seattle for that weekend.
Do I really have to sing at the audition? Why?
Yes, we do require a short song at the audition.
Can I visit the program?
Yes, if you are in the Seattle area in the fall there's a good chance you'll be able to visit the program and sit in on a Suzuki/Viewponts class on Monday or Wednesday morning. Please email us at uwdrama@uw.edu to arrange.
Is the GRE required?
No, the GRE is not required for any of the MFA programs, only for the Ph.D. |
