The mission of the Center for Disability Policy and Research is to shape disability policy and service delivery through research, policy analysis, training and dissemination of information.
Center on Human Development and Disability
The Center on Human Development and Disability makes important contributions to the lives of people with developmental disabilities and their families, through a comprehensive array of research, clinical services, training, community outreach, and dissemination activities.

Communications and Computing

Access Technology Lab
The Access Technology Lab provides resources to improve access to computing resources for University of Washington students, faculty, and staff including: access for blind users via speech output or braille; magnification of the screen for people with low vision; alternatives to the standard keyboard and mouse; use of speech recognition software as a writing tool and accessories to make computer use more comfortable. Staff are available to assist in training on the adaptive equipment and software.

Other Services for Students with Disabilities

DO-IT
DO-IT (Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking, and Technology) serves to increase the participation of individuals with disabilities in challenging academic programs and careers. It promotes the use of computer and networking technologies to increase independence, productivity, and participation in education and employment. The DO-IT website provides a wealth of resources for students with disabilities, K-12 educators, post-secondary, faculty, and administrators, librarians, employers, and parents and mentors.
UW Bothell Disability Support Services (DSS)
DSS Bothell provides services to students who are enrolled at the University of Washington Bothell campus. Academic accommodations, if reasonable and appropriate, are provided to students with a documented permanent or temporary physical, emotional, or sensory disability.
UW Tacoma Disability Support Services (DSS)
DSS Tacoma functions as the focal point for coordination of services for students with disabilities on the Tacoma campus.
