Symposium on Disability, Technology and Rehabilitation in Low and Middle Income Countries

The Symposium on Disability, Technology and Rehabilitation in Low and Middle Income Countries will bring together stakeholders who focus on improving and increasing access to technology and rehabilitation products and services with the goal of ensuring full inclusion and participation for people with disabilities in low and middle income countries.

When: June 27th & 28th, 2013  at Lyceum Room at the Husky Union Building (HUB)

Cost: Student Attendees = $50 USD ($25/day), Regular Attendees = $100 USD ($50/day)

Space is limited so we recommend you register at your earliest convenience. Note that we also hope to live stream the symposium so attendees can participate remotely if they are not able to attend in person.

 

National Association of Law Students with Disabilities (NALSWD) Conference

The conference is open to all students with disabilities, whether or not they are registered with a school’s disability services office. It is a fantastic opportunity to network and learn.  In addition to emailing students, we are hoping your school would be willing to display our flyers on any public bulletin boards within your school.

Youth in Development DC Internship Program (YiD)

USICD is launching its first internship program focusing on youth with disabilities who are interested in international affairs careers. Talented college students, graduate students, and recent graduates with disabilities will meet in Washington, DC for nine weeks in the summer of 2013 for exposure to to the international development arena.  http://usicd.org/template/page.cfm?id=257

 

Procrastination / Perfectionism Group

WebAIM Survey

WebAIM has conducted surveys of screen reader users for the past four years. The results of these surveys (e.g., http://webaim.org/projects/screenreadersurvey4/) have been very helpful in informing our web accessibility efforts. Now, WebAIM is expanding their survey efforts in order to better understand the needs of users with low vision and motor disabilities. The deadline for completing the survey is March 15. Responses are appreciated!

Transition fair helps the disabled land work

The Snohomish County Transition Resource Fair returns to Cascade High School in Everett on March 26. For the past 16 years, the event has been putting local residents with disabilities in touch with employers, services and programs aimed to increase their independence. Click here for news article.
