BREAKING THE RECORD: University Temporary Services reports that it has broken its own record. At the beginning of Winter Quarter, UTS was called upon to find 30 temporary employees to fill jobs beginning on the same day. And they made it—surpassing their old mark of 27 jobs filled on the same day. Given that the usual rate is eight jobs per day, that shows a lot of hustle. UTS wants to thank all its temporary employees and clients who helped make the record possible.

KUDOS: Medical Education Professor Sarena Seifer has been selected a Young Leader of the Academy by The American Association of Higher Education's Leadership Project . . . Speech and Hearing Sciences Professor and Chair Patricia Kuhl has been awarded the Silver Medal of the Acoustical Society of America for her "contributions to our understanding of the innate and learned aspects of language acquisition."
