UW employees may nominate colleagues for the 1998 Distinguished Staff Award, a $3,000 award to be given to up to five outstanding staff employees. This is the second year of the awards and the first year they will be presented at the University's annual recognition event, to be held June 11, along with the Distinguished Teaching and Outstanding Public Service awards. All permanent staff employees at Seattle, Bothell or Tacoma are eligible if they work 50 percent or more, have been employed at least six months and are employed on the nomination closing date. The deadline for nominations is Friday, Feb. 20.
