97-98 CFD attracts 500 new donors; raises $1.1 million
The 1997-98 UW Combined Fund Drive contributions increased by 3.1 percent, and raised $1.145 million. In addition, through the hard work and commitment of more than 400 UW volunteers, nearly 500 new donors were attracted to the campaign for a total of 5,555 individuals contributing—or 31 percent of all UW faculty and staff, reported Teresa A. Spellman, CFD campaign chair and director of quality improvement, accreditation and credentialing for UW Physicians Network. The UW continues to be the leader in Washington State, and this year contributed 32 percent of the total dollars received state-wide ($3.545 million) in the CFD. The 1997-98 UW and State Combined Fund Drives were the most successful ever, Spellman said. ¶
