Sculpture exhibits at Henry close Sunday

Two minimalist sculpture exhibits close at the Henry Art Gallery Sunday, Feb. 1: Earths Grow Thick and Simple Form.

Earths Grow Thick presents four groups of sculpture by Roni Horn. Inspired by the poetry of Emily Dickenson, the works demonstrate different styles of approaching the formal language of poetry.

Simple Form, an exhibition of recent sculpture and installations by six acclaimed contemporary artists, investigates minimalism and the power of elementary shapes. Included in this exhibition are the works of Polly Apfelbaum, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Rachel Lachowicz, Rachel Whiteread and local artists Roy McMakin and Cris Bruch. ¶
