LOOKING TO 2000: While those in the computer industry may be dreading the year 2000, economists at the UW are looking forward to it because the World Congress of the Econometric Society will hold its annual meeting here that year. As part of a scouting expedition for the big event, Nobel Prize winner Robert Lucas will be on campus today and tomorrow. For Lucas, it's not only an official duty, but a trip to the hometown. The winner of the 1995 prize for economics grew up in Seattle and graduated from Roosevelt High School.

KUDOS: Jan Herdman, a disability case manager in Risk Management, was appointed to a second term on the Governor's Committee on Disability Issues and Employment . . . Sharon Greenberg, senior lecturer in Rehabilitation Medicine, was named to the state Board of Occupational Therapy Practice. ¶
