When men batter women: New insights from UW professors
Some of the graduate students and faculty members who have been recipients of the Huckabay Teaching Fellowship this year will demonstrate their projects at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12 in the Walker Ames Room, Kane.
The Huckabay Teaching Fellowship provides support for one quarter for a graduate student to work with a faculty mentor on issues of teaching and learning at the college and university level. This is the second year the UW has offered such fellowships, which are funded by a private endowment established by Durward and Susan Huckabay.
Three of the faculty-student pairs will show off their work on March 12. They are fellow Le'a Kent, English, and mentor Marie Ormes, humanities, North Seattle Community College; fellow Carol Ladd and mentor Richard Strickland, School of Oceanography; fellow Kari Couch and mentor Jean Deitz, Rehabilitation Medicine.
The presentation is sponsored by the Graduate School and the Center for Instructional Development and Research (CIDR). It is free, but reservations are requested. Call CIDR at 3-6588 or e-mail rsvphuckabay@cidr.washington.edu and indicate your name and department. ¶
