Parking coupon plan in full effect April 1

Parking Services' Validation Coupon Program will be in full effect April 1: Only validation coupons will be honored for outbound parking fee refunds; departmental commuter tickets (DCTs) will be honored only upon entrance. Parking at the Triangle Garage will continue to be validated using the UW Medical Center (UWMC) validation tickets, available from UWMC administration.

Parking Services introduced the lower-cost validation coupons fall quarter for departments wishing to pay the parking fees of their campus guests and visitors. The department's appropriate budget number is charged when a parking permit with validation coupon is presented for refund at a campus gatehouse. The departmental budget is charged only the actual amount of the parking fee, not a flat fee, as in the case of departmental commuter tickets.

The Validation Coupon Program works as follows:

  • The visitor purchases a parking permit at a campus gatehouse.
  • Before leaving the department, the visitor is given a validation coupon.
  • Upon returning to the vehicle, the visitor places the coupon on the back of the parking permit.
  • The visitor presents the validated permit to the traffic guide upon exit and receives a refund. The department is charged only the fee for actual parking time.
