Dr. Olivia Golden, assistant secretary for the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will speak on "The Impact of Welfare Reform on Families" from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 24, in room 26-30 at the School of Social Work. Golden directs some 60 programs with a budget of more than $37 million and a staff of more than 1,500. Before becoming the assistant secretary, she was Commissioner on Children, Youth and Families within the ACF and directed efferts to re-authorize the Head Start Program.
