Construction to begin on third floor for Social Work Building

Construction on a third-floor addition to the School of Social Work building on 15th Ave. N.E. is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 11, and is expected to last from nine to 12 months.

The entrance to the building from 41st St., facing Schmitz Hall, will be closed.

Because of the construction, the Office of the Dean, and offices for two associate deans and two assistant deans, are being relocated to space at 4516 University Way. Several other faculty and staff offices will also move to this location. Other faculty and staff offices will move to Suite 355 in the University District Building at the corner of 45th St. and 11th Ave. N.E.

The additional floor on the south and west of the building will expand the building by 9,000 sq. ft. The new space will include a large multipurpose conference room to be used for community meetings, conferences and training sessions. There will also be 11 individual offices and two conference break-out rooms. ¶
