Dr. Stephan Fihn, professor of medicine and health services, has been elected to a one-year term as president of the Society of General Internal Medicine, a 3,000-member organization founded in 1978 to promote improved patient care, research, and education in primary care and general internal medicine. Dr. David Dale, professor of medicine and former dean of the School of Medicine, and Dr. Eric Larson, professor of medicine and medical director of UW Medical Center, are past presidents of the organization.
