KING IS DEAD: King Redoubt, an Alaskan Malamute who was the Husky mascot for seven years, died of natural causes last weekend at his home. Owner Kim Cross, whose family has trained and handled Husky mascots since 1959, said the 8 °-year-old dog had a great temperament to be at the games with the large crowds. He was really good with people and very popular among kids. One of King Redoubts offspring, Husky Prince Redoubt, will take over as mascot when the new Husky season begins. Cross said the 4-year-old dog is blessed with his fathers temperament. He is so similar we just call him Junior, he said.
