The curved exterior wall of the new Fisheries Building’s southwest corner, under construction on the left, has now taken shape. It will house the building’s auditorium. The tower in the center of the photo will be the projection booth. Construction on the building, located along Northeast Boat Street west of the Fisheries Teaching and Research Center, is approximately 50 percent complete. Workmen are now installing exterior brick and interior metal stud framing and mechanical and electrical systems. The landscape design of the courtyard, the area shown in the foreground, has not been bid. When complete, the three-story building will include office and laboratory space to reunify the School of Fisheries. The school is currently located in eight facilities, separated by nearly a half mile. The $41,401,000 project is scheduled for occupancy in Fall 1999.
