Burke seeks volunteers of all ages

The Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture needs volunteers of all ages from teens to seniors for a full range of public program activities including special events, family programs, and hands-on educational school tours. An informal Volunteer Open House will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. tonight at the museum.

Even if you are unable to attend the open house, you can still volunteer. All you need is an interest in working with school children and family groups, a willingness to commit to at least four hours a month and the ability to complete a six-session training.

Day, evening, and weekend shifts are available.

The next volunteer training, focusing specifically on the Life and Times of Washington exhibit, begins Thursday, Oct. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. Pacific Voices training begins in January 1999.

For additional information, call 543-7907 or Diane Quinn, education program manager, at 685-7154. ¶
