Occupational therapy, physical therapy and prosthetic-orthotic training programs in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine are holding an open house for prospective students from 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6, in room BB-912 of the Health Sciences Center. Faculty and students in the programs will host the open house and provide information about each discipline and the degree programs offered. Dr. Christina Surawicz, chief of gastroenterology at Harborview Medical Center, took office earlier this month as president of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG). The ACG is an international organization with more than 7,000 members. A UW professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, Surawicz will direct the ACGs continuing medical education programs, policies involving local and national medical affairs, managed care issues and clinical investigation. Surawicz is the first woman to serve as ACG president. University Week The faculty and staff publication of the University of Washington uweek@u.washington.edu October 29, 1998
