Reference Update
University Reference Stations now contain the following new and revised information:
Operations Manual
The following information is new:
“University Restitution Procedure for Financial Losses or Irregularities” (D 47.4)—This new procedure explains the steps taken when the Department of Internal Audit receives notice of a suspected financial loss or irregularity within the University. The procedure also covers the settlement process, possible criminal prosecution, and disciplinary action.
The Operations Manual is revised in the following areas:
“University-Wide Organization List” (C 00.1) and “University Organization Chart” (C 00.2)—Both of these sections have been updated to provide current information regarding the University’s organizational structure and the individuals who oversee the University’s major departments and programs.
“Financial Accounting System Object and Sub-Object Codes for Expenditures” (D 34.1)—If you work with University budgets, you should be aware of a number of expenditure code definitions which have been updated in this revision to the FAS Object/Sub-Object listings.
“Policy and Procedure on Reasonable Accommodation of Employees With Disabilities”(D 46.5) and Attachment A—This section describes the University’s procedures for meeting reasonable accommodation requirements outlined by state and federal law.
“Professional Staff Personnel Program” (D 42.1) and Attachment CRecent revisions to the salary ranges for Professional Staff employees are reflected in this section’s attachment.
“Medical Services” (D 11.6)—This newly renumbered procedure addresses health services available to University employees, students, and the general public through the Hall Health Primary Care Center and the UWMC and HMC. Also covered are specialized services required by various types of University employment.
“Motor Pool Policies, Regulations, and Procedures” (D 53.2) and Attachment B—Before you make arrangements for a rental vehicle from Motor Pool, be sure to check out their newly revised procedures in this section.
“University Blood Donation Program” (D 11.8) and Attachment A—If you’re interested in donating blood, this section will provide the “how, when, and where” of University blood drives.
“University Calendar—Long-Range Overview” (D 20.1)—This calendar provides a snapshot of quarterly beginning and ending dates through the 2002-2003 academic year for long-range planning purposes.
“Graduate Student Service Appointments” (D 44.2)—If you are responsible for processing graduate student appointments, this section will assist in determining eligibility and preparing payroll documents.
“Occupational Safety and Health Programs: General Requirements for WISHA Compliance” (D 10.3)—This section received a minor revision concerning the oversight of campus health and safety committees.
“Current Contract Airfares” (D 75.2 A)—These airfare rates are effective July 1, 1998, for those airlines which have contracted with the state of Washington.
“Budget Rent-a-Car Daily Rates and Exception Cities” (D 75.3 A)—Car rental rates effective Aug. 1, 1998, for key cities under state contract are listed in this revision.
“University Week Publication Schedule” (D 00.8 A)—Provides the 1998-1999 calendar of scheduled publication dates for University Week.
