Dr. David Heimbach, director of the UW Burn Center at Harborview, was installed as president of the International Society for Burn Injury (ISBI) at the societys recent meeting in Jerusalem. Heimbach, a UW professor of surgery, is the third American to be elected president in the groups 40-year history. ISBI has 2,000 members from 90 countries working to advance research, education and prevention of burns throughout the world. The organization meets every four years.
