Unearthed at Fayum, Egypt, she is about 2,000 years old and is thought have lived during the period that ended with the reign of Cleopatra in 30 B.C. Typical for this period of Egyptian history, the mummy, reportedly an adolescent woman of some wealth, wears a painted mask and a chest covering made of linen soaked in plaster.
