Deadlines Dec. 17 is the deadline for receipt of proposals at Grant and Contract Services for proposals due on Jan. 1, 1999 at the awarding agency. Academic Opportunity Visiting Professorships at University of Bergen, 1999-2000 The University of WashingtonUniversity of Bergen Faculty Exchange program announces its annual competition for Visiting Professor appointments at the University of Bergen, Norway for a minimum term of one quarter. Appointments can also be arranged at the University of Trondheim. Visiting Professors receive travel expenses and subsidized housing, and continue to receive their UW salary. Since its founding in 1979, forty-seven UW faculty members have journeyed to Bergen with support from this program. They have come from such diverse fields as Anthropology, Dentistry, Education, English, Fisheries, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Quaternary Research, Scandinavian Languages & Literature, Surgery, Women’s Studies, and Zoology. The sixty-eight University of Bergen faculty visiting UW have spanned a similar range of disciplines. Gifts with USPS postmarks on or before Dec. 31, 1998, but received after that date, can be receipted for 1998. The postmarked envelope must be sent to Gift Processing, with the gift, for this credit. Please make every effort to forward all year-end gifts to Gift Processing no later than Monday, Jan. 4 ,1999. However, all gifts received in Gift Processing after that date will still qualify for December receipting if the postmarked envelope accompanies them. Gift Processing & Records Management Determination of Nonsignificance Description of proposal: Construction of a 95,000 gsf intercollegiate indoor practice facility. The building will contain a 4-lane track and a full size football field which will be used as a practice facility for football, track, soccer, baseball/softball and golf. In addition, Wahkiakum Lane between Montlake Blvd and Walla Walla Road will be realigned and a conventional intersection and signal will be installed at the intersection of Montlake Blvd NE and Wahkiakum Lane.
