New Construction
Social Work building’s new addition will add nearly 9,000 gross square feet of offices, conference/meeting rooms and support space on the south end of the existing building, both at the ground level and on the third floor. The building is located at 4101 15th Avenue N.E.


Chamber Dance Co.
Yoav Kaddar performs in Men’s Dance by Charles Weidman during the UW Dance Program’s Chamber Dance Company 1999 only season performance—at 8 p.m. Jan. 28­30 and at 2 p.m., Jan. 31 at Meany Hall. This year’s concert of historically significant modern dances includes the signature works of Paul Taylor, Lar Lubovitch, Charles Weidman, Ruth St. Denis and Doris Humphrey. Tickets are $10 general, $8 for students and seniors, available at the UW Ticket Office or by calling 543-4880. The seven-member company is the first professional dance company to be in residence at the UW. It was founded by Hannah C. Wiley in 1990 and has become a favorite of Seattle audiences. The company is comprised of candidates for the Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance.

Samuel McKinney of Mount Zion Baptist Church (above top), readings by students from Montlake Elementary School (above center), and a Native American dance by Taylor Henry (at bottom).
