Women’s health study: The School of Nursing is seeking women with irritable bowel syndrome to participate in a research study that includes an interview and questionnaire, a computerized mental health assessment, keeping a diary and collecting urine for one month, three nights in a sleep laboratory and a blood draw. Participants need to be between 18 and 45, have regular, natural menstrual periods (no birth control pills or Norplant) and be able to read and write English. Compensation is $325 for completing the study. For more information, contact Susan at 616-7544.

Female volunteers age 16 to 23 are needed for a UW research study testing the effectiveness of a preventive vaccine for human papilloma virus 16, a sexually transmitted disease. Volunteers cannot be pregnant or plan to become pregnant in the next eight months. Volunteers will receive routine Pap smears while enrolled in the study and be compensated for their participation.
