Norris to assume additional role at UWP Network Dr. Tom Norris, medical director of the UW Physicians Network, will assume the additional role of UWPN executive director on April 30. Mike Evans, UWPNs first executive director, plans to pursue studies at Fuller Theological Seminary in Seattle. He will continue to work with the UW Academic Medical Center on a variety of special projects. Prior to joining UWPN, Norris worked to further medical education as assistant dean for regional affairs and rural health in the School of Medicine. He is a professor of family medicine and associate dean of the medical school. In the past two years, UW Physicians Network has opened nine primary care clinics, located in Auburn, Federal Way, Kent/Des Moines, Belltown, Factoria, Issaquah, Shoreline, West Seattle and Woodinville. The network was developed to provide King County residents with easy access to the primary-care services of UW Physicians and provide educational opportunities for residents and physician assistants. Growth of the network in 1998 averaged 10 percent per month.In January 1999, UWPN clinics had 10,500 patient visits. The non-profit organization was established with support from UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center and UW Physicians, the faculty practice group.
