March 18, 1999, is the deadline for receipt of proposals at Grant and Contract Services for proposals due on April 1, 1999, at the awarding agency.

Institute for Ethnic Studies in the United States
The Institute for Ethnic Studies in the United States (IESUS) invites applications from University of Washington faculty members who are engaged in or are beginning projects on ethnic issues in the United States. International Tax Workshop
International students and scholars who hold F, J, or H visa status are required to file a tax return for the 1998 tax year. Individuals who earned income in 1998 have a filing deadline of April 15; those who did not earn wages should file by June 15. The International Services Office (ISO) will present a tax workshop for students and scholars on Wednesday, March 10 from 3-5 p.m. in 309 HUB. The workshop is free, and will be conducted by an IRS representative who is familiar with tax regulations affecting international visitors.
