Laramore to chair Radiation Oncology
Dr. Paul Ramsey, vice president for medical affairs and dean of the School of Medicine, has named Dr. George Laramore chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology. Laramore, who has been serving as acting chair, joined the faculty in 1979 as an assistant professor of radiation oncology. He became vice chair of the department in 1994. Laramore received a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Illinois in 1969. In 1976, he earned an M.D. degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. His clinical and research interests include fast neutron radiotherapy, boron neutron capture therapy, head and neck cancer, and sarcoma of soft tissues and bone. ¶ University Week The faculty and staff publication of the University of Washington uweek@u.washington.edu April 8, 1999
