UW Bothell launches Distinguished Lecture Series with UCLA professor Harding
Sandra Harding, professor of education and womens studies at UCLA, will be the first speaker in the UW Bothell Distinguished Lecture Series. Her lecture, Is Science Multicultural?, will be held May 27 in the UWB Commons. The lecture begins at 4:45 p.m. A reception in her honor starts at 4 p.m. Harding is the author or editor of 10 books and special journal issues, including The Science Question in Feminism; Whose Science? Whose Knowledge? Thinking from Womens Lives; The Racial Economy of Science: Toward a Democratic Future; and Is Science Multicultural? Postcolonialisms, Feminisms and Epistemologies. Harding has lectured at over 200 universities and conferences around the world. She has served as a consultant to UNESCO World Science Report, the Pan American Health Organization, and the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development.
